Hi guys,

Putting together a few Q500 aircraft. Just wondering what the concensus is on tanks? Size & whether to go bladder or just conventional.

neil alex warren and tyler from Toowoomba have always
used standard tanks in Q500 & QE46 models.

Some of the other guys use them up here - but
I don't see any real advantage.

I think it's personal preference.... Although a bladder tank is not really needed I use the bladder tanks myself as they give that bit extra reliability...

No air bubbles or fuel foaming from vibration etc... I know other people have had bladder tank problems with a hole wearing in them but that can happen to a regular tank...
But at least with the bladder tank it doesn't fill your plane with fuel...  Very Happy

I have never worn a hole in a normal tank as they are much more robust than a bladder tank, however I have had holes in bladders, bladders perish and fall to pieces and bungs leak as there is nothing to swell the bung to make it seal. My advice is always try the normal tank as the only bad thing about them over the bladder tank is fuel foaming, so if foamong isn't a problem in you're aircraft than a non bladder tank is far more reliable
