|
|
Anyone running 11.1 Volt Lipo battery packs in their Transmitters?... I know of people are using them and see them for sale etc...
Question is are they reliable?... and when you charge them they charge to a greater voltage than 12 Volts...
All transmitters that I know of are rated to handle 12 Volt yet most use a 9.6Volt NiMH Battery Pack... These charge to over 11 Volts according to the charger so no over voltage problems for the Tranny there...
Will the Lipo's harm the Transmitter and do you get a much longer usage time out of them... ? |

I have seen some Manufacturers stating not to use the Lipo TX packs, but I have also heard of many using them successfully. I am keen to here the feedback on this subject as I am not happy with the battery life in my JR 12x.

This is the reason I am asking too Bruce...
The battery life in my JR 9X is getting shorter and shorter... Will have to replace them soon... |

| from what i have read some transmitters voltage regulators cant handle the higher voltage, as most of the circuitry is set for three volts. It seem that heat is the problem with the voltage regulator and being a non vented tx case just ads to it all . Would pay to check with your supplier to be safe |

| I know Two people with 3 radios (2 DSX 9s & 1 DX7) and have had no problems with 11.1v TX packs. |

Scrap that idea of me trying the battery, they don't make one to fit the 12x, only every other radio that JR and Spektrum make!
Looks like it is up to you Steve to give it a try, but it seems there are plenty out there using them already so shold not be a problem.
